Awww...
This morning's launch of the shuttle Endeavor was scrubbed due to a leaky valve on the hydrogen line. Looks to be a minimum 4 day delay, just to replace the valve, possibly longer if the mission gets "bumped" by an upcoming lunar orbital mission.

Leaking hydrogen *BAAAD*. (the company I work for is working on a hydrogen leak/flame detection system for NASA, so I know a lot more about this than I did a couple years ago).

Oh yeah, hydrogen is a damned tricky fuel. Back in high school I had an electrolysis rig blow up on me in an after class chemistry project; fortunately I was in another room and the lab was empty, so no harm beyond some broken glassware and a fused breaker... I had to end it there, and lost a lot of marks, but that sure taught me to respect the stuff.

-- Steve just wishes that the valve hadn't failed, on the second launch in a row to boot.
